Bulgaria and Romania will become part of the European Union as of 1 January 2007, as mentioned in our Belgium Tax Alert of 27 September 2006.
The guarantee concerning community transit must be valid for all Member States of the European Union. This means that you always have to extend your guarantee to the new Member States Bulgaria and Romania as of 1 January 2007 irrespective of the Member States in which you actually perform community transit.
