As of July 2007 a new stage within the e-customs planning will come in place, the Export Control System (ECS). ECS will foresee the electronic data exchange of export declarations between customs offices of export and customs offices of exit. Later on ECS will be integrated into AES (Automated Export System), where economic operators will have to communicate electronically with customs authorities so that they are able to monitor the export flows closely.
