The European Commission (EC) announced on 28 June 2007 that it has approved, under the State Aid Rules in the EC Treaty, an extension of the preferential regime for the Madeira Free Zone (MFZ). This regime will result in tax reductions worth Euro 300 million for companies setting up in the Madeira International Business Center (MIBC).
