The first batch of legislation which is to be included in the Small Business Tax Amnesty and Amendment of Taxation of Laws Bill, 2006 has recently been released. The draft Bill contains some of the tax changes announced by the Minister of Finance in his Budget Speech on 15 February 2006. These changes were discussed in the last edition of Tax Grapevine (Issue 1/2006). Provisions relating to the small business tax amnesty are not contained in the current batch and are to be set out in a separate batch of draft legislation which will be released in due course. It is envisaged that the draft legislation will be considered by the Parliamentary Committees in May 2006.
