United States: FIRPTA Reorganization Rules Significantly Liberalized, 8 June 2006 - Amerika Birleşik Devletleri

In Notice 2006-46, the IRS announced intended changes to the Foreign Investment Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA) regulations covering inbound reorganizations and foreign-to-foreign exchanges. According to the Notice, final regulations will be updated to account for the fact that statutory mergers and consolidations described in §368(a)(1)(A) may now involve foreign
corporations.
